48 hours

This is what I am dreaming about today.................

and where we will be in less than 48 hours! Yay! I will be sitting on a lawn chair staring at this beautiful view, while smelling the amazing smell of the brisket Steve has cooking in the smoker, while I am watching Emersyn and Avery playing in the baby pool nearby. Does it get better than than? I don't think so!!!

In less than 48 hours i will be enjoying:
hugging my family, Sonic vanilla cream diet cokes, Steve's homemade BBQ, Rosa/Oscars/Jorges, my 2 beautiful nieces, catching up with old friends, soaking up the warm Texas sun, seeing everyone's new house, eating more Mexican food than I can stand, taking lots of pictures, reliving memories in my hometown, laughing with my sisters and LOVING EVERY MOMENT of our vacation in Texas.
Watch out Texas, the Winston's are coming to town!

******For all my Dallas girls I am SO sad that I won't be able to see you this trip. Please kiss those babies for me and tell them that Aunt Nicole loves them and hopes to see them VERY soon!!!*******

15 Month Well Check

Avery had her 15 month well-check appointment and besides her two shots everything went great. here are her stats:
height- 32 in (95 percentile)
weight- 24.8 lb (75 percentile)
he said she has a really advanced vocabulary for her age and that she is the "picture of health!" Yay!

At 15 months Avery:
- can say Mama, Dada, agua, cracker, Marly and Macy, down, up, rain, elmo, mas, Amy, caca, baby, dance, no, si, hug
- can point to her eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, head, toes and belly in English AND Spanish!
- says the sounds for dog, cat, duck, cow in English and Spanish
- mimicks everything we do and say
- LOVES watching videos and pictures of herself on the computer
- still loves music and singing "if your happy and you know it" "itsy bitsy spider" "head, shoulders, knees and toes" "ring around the rosy" etc
- LOVES dancing- first thing she does in the morning is say "dance" and puts her hand up in the air as if to snap her fingers-ha!
- basically runs everywhere, can climb stairs on her own, and can climb on and off our couch and bed on her own
- is so loving! she wakes me up with kisses every morning and is always hugging everything
- has just recently in the past week fallen in love with Elmo. She used to never care at all if sesame street was on but now she is totally transfixed by Elmo and asks to watch him all the time
- is starting to throw little tantrums- meaning she screams at the top of her lungs and cries out a little bit when she doesn't get her way

dancing queen

we are still here!!!

I have gotten some flack for not updating the blog in a while and I am SO sorry but things have been pretty busy lately and my little 15 month old likes to be outside all the time so that means very little time on the computer for Mommy!

About a week ago the Miami Dolphins had their family day BBQ and Avery had a blast running all over the astro-turf and playing on the bounce houses. She thought she was such a big girl!

Big Foot

Would you believe that this beautiful, precious, little angel of a girl has the biggest feet ever?  Well its true.

Yep.  Our little darlin wears a size 7.  I know that may not mean a darn thing to those of you who are not familiar with toddler shoe sizes, but trust me, its frickin huge.

The new shoes we had to buy her because she outgrew her size 5 in like a month!

"Hey at least I am still adorable!"

Rainy Day Antics

It has been raining nonstop in South Florida for the past 2 weeks.  We are used to the normal summer showers, which usually occur around 4PM and last about 15 minutes, but these last 2 weeks it has rained everyday from about 2PM until we go to sleep.  It even hailed on us the other day!  In my pre-baby life I would have LOVED this weather.  Getting all cuddled up in my bed and watching movies on a rainy day was one of my favorite days.  Not so much with a toddler because there are only so many things we can do inside.

We have tried our hand at coloring, and I have to say she is a natural.  And she switches between using her right and left hand which is pretty talented if you ask me.

We have read every book in the house.  Twice.

We have even gone dumpster diving.  (Not really but this picture is too funny not to post again!)

And of course, we have played lots and LOTS of dress up.

But mostly we just sit.  And wait. And wait.   Singing "Rain, Rain, Go Away."  And looking forward to the days when we can go swimming, climb on the swing-set, and play outside again!

Rare Moment

We never, ever get a family picture so I thought I would post this one that we took on Memorial Day using out timer.  Not the best picture, but not the worst either!

Caught Red Handed

We have this new game where after we change Avery's diaper she likes to take it to the trash can and then throw it away. Then she claps for herself for throwing it in the trash can all by herself. It's all really cute until she decides that she wants to do it again. So she will dig into the gross, dirty trash can trying to fish out her dirty diaper, and then she will pull it out, show it to me, throw it away again, and then clap for herself. Even though she knows not to dig into the trash can she will run back into the kitchen when she thinks I am not looking to try to dig out her diaper again- sneaky girl!
