Update

We are closing in on the house situation! Yay! Things continue to be working out perfectly and we are going to be living in an amazing neighborhood with a few of our friends near-by to keep us company :-) We are waiting to finalize some paperwork and then we can breathe a sigh of relief. Here is a little update on the girls, who are both handling the transition to their new surrounds SO much better than I could have ever anticipated:

- Gracyn: This girl is completely crawling. She has been for about a week or two but now she really has it down and can move across the room as fast as her big sister. She sleeps so easily in the pack and play and I think it's truly amazing because Avery used to hate sleeping in that thing. Gracyn still taking about 3 naps a day, and going to bed about 6ish every night and sleeping until 7 the next morning. She is eating solid foods at all three meals now and has been fully weaned to formula, which she transitioned to really easily. She is super mobile and constantly on the move and growing way faster that I want her to! She is babbling a ton and always making some sort of sound. She continues to be the happiest baby in the world!

-Avery: She is also doing really well. She has loved meeting all her new friends and we have been keeping her pretty busy with all the house hunting stuff. She has taken it all like a champ and done pretty well, with only one or two meltdowns along the way. She is at a really good age where her schedule is much more flexible so she has taken to her new home really easily. This girl has become quite the little swimmer. She is now able to jump off the diving board and swim to the side all by herself! It's so amazing to see my little girl swimming around all by herself. She is getting so big SO fast!

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes

We are still here! I'm sure you can guess but things have been SO crazy the past 2 weeks. We spent a week in College Station and then came to Dallas area last Monday to start looking at houses. That is such an exhausting process but we have a few things narrowed down and hope to finalize something soon!

The girls have been such AMAZING troopers. They have spent more time in the car in the past week, driving from city to city looking at houses, then they probably will in the entire next year. But they have handled it all really well.

We have managed to fit in a few playdates and dinner's with friends and family so in addition to seeing homes, we have been running around like crazy. But it's a good crazy.

And we are all pretty happy about all the friend/family time we have had over the past 2 weeks and can't believe that we get to do it MUCH more frequently now!

Also (she is going to kill me!) just wanted to throw in that I was honored enough to get to go to the Teacher of the Year dinner the Allison last week. She was Teacher of the Year for her elementary school and it's only her 2nd year teaching! I am SO beyond proud of her and am so impressed at the amazing and inspirational woman that she has become! Congrats Alli!!!!!

Moving Home :-)

We are trying to recover from the utter amazingness of all the events of the last week and a half. It has been a crazy rollercoaster of a ride but we are thrilled with the turnout!

Last Friday the Dolphins said we were allowed to take vacation starting on Monday but we needed to go take one quickly because they are unsure how the lockout is going to turn out and the schedule for the summer is just up in the air until the lockout is over. So we placed about a million calls to our family members to plan an impromptu trip to see if we could come on in to TX for a 4 week vacay starting ASAP, with plans to stop in College Station and Dallas. We loaded up the car with 2 babies, 2 doggies, 3 suitcases, 2 adults, 3 energy drinks (and a partridge in a pear tree) and started driving to Texas on Tuesday evening. Yep, I said driving to Texas. Yes we are crazy. We are fully aware.

About 19 hours into the trip, ironically enough just as we had entered the state of Texas, Matt gets a call from his boss offering him the college scouting job for the southwest region. The guy who had the job before was offered another job with another team so when this job came open they immediately thought of Matt because he is completely fabulous and because if he is the southwest scout we get to LIVE IN THAT REGION! And part of his region will include Texas.....hence WE GET TO MOVE HOME!!!!!!!

Did you follow me on that?

Yeah it's all super crazy because when we packed up to drive to Texas I had zero idea that we would actually be moving here. I knew I should have packed more than one pair of jeans :-)

God is so good because the timing really couldn't be better. The girls and the dogs already survived the long drive, and will not have to make it again. Our car is already here. Matt is here for a few more weeks so we have ample time to find a house. And our lease on our house in Florida is up on July 1. Seriously it could not work out any better.

And to clear up a few questions- we are going to be moving to the DFW area but we will still not be Cowboys fans because Matt is still working for the Miami Dolphins as their Southwest Regional Scouts- Go Fins!

I know it all sounds crazy and we are still trying to wrap our minds around it all but the one thing I do know for sure is that God's work is all over this and we could not be more grateful.

Gracyn is 7 Month Old

What You Did This Month- 7 months old

Weight: ?

Length/Height: ?

Head Circumference: ?

Diaper Size: Size 2

Clothing Size: still fit into 3-6 month clothes, but wearing some 6-9 months depending on the brand. your still our little peanut!

Sleeping Habits: Consistently sleeping through the night! You have been doing this for about 2-3 weeks now- no more middle of the night feedings! You take 2-3 naps during the day, and continue to nap best in your own crib. Definitely not a good napper when we are out and about, you are way too curious!

Eating Habits: Sadly, you sleeping through the night came at a price---- my milk supply. I guess going so long between feedings messed up my milk supply because I was starting to notice that around 3pm you were super super fussy so I thought I'd try feeding you a bottle just to see, and you gulped it down! We will most likely we weaned in the next few weeks... :-(
You are still trying out all the baby foods and seem to be taking to it all really easily.

Milestones: You are SO mobile now! You are commando/psuedo-crawl across the room. If you see something you want you are able to get there so quick! I think you are only a week or so away from actual crawling. You are sitting up really well and your balance continues to improve

Likes/Dislikes:

- Such a great baby! Your temperment continues to be so easy-going, and we are so grateful for that!

The View From Here

We had a nice little weekend! The draft ended on Saturday (wahooo!).......so now if this NFL lockout thing would get settled already we could start enjoying our summer with Matt!

I cleaned up and re-did our little outside patio, which we had previously sort of given over to the dogs, so needless to say it was pretty filthy. So I swept, watered down and cleaned everything in here- bought some flowers, bought a pool for the girls, and spray painted the table and chairs so everything is looking pretty darn good! And we have been spending most of our time enjoying the outside! Why did I not do this earlier? We LOVE it out here!

This picture of Matt & Gracyn cracks me up because there is certainly no denying how similar they look- especially in this picture! Their mouths and smiles are exactly the same here! Hilarious!

Loving life!
And have to add that we are pretty proud to be American's right now! USA!
