Safe

Thanks to all of you who texted and called to check on us through Tropical Storm Nicole. We actually got off really easy with just a day chocked full of rain. Somehow we were spared 50 mph winds and floods, thank goodness! So Avery and I just spent the day inside playing dress up, watching movies and baking cookies.
We had another doctor's appointment yesterday and everything is still looking good. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that I will be a mommy of TWO is 12 days OR LESS!

Just Another Day.......

We had SUCH an amazing day today! Not that all my days spent hanging out with my favorite girl aren't amazing but Avery and I both got a great night's sleep last night and woke up with LOTS of energy, and at at 36 1/2 weeks pregnant that is something to take advantage of! So we took off early to run some errands and then went down to the beach for a while. Unfortunately it was super windy so we didn't swim or anything but we built sandcastles, ran along the beach, ran from the waves and went looking for seashells. In other words just played and it was so much fun! Then after the beach we drove 20 miles completely out of our way to the nearest Sonic- and it was SO worth it! Since its not at all near our house we never ever have Sonic but it was so yummy today and they even made me a vanilla cream diet coke- hit the spot!
There was one point while we were eating lunch and singing to our new favorite song (Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue") that I got a little emotional at how much I love days like today. Just easy breezy days where I get to hang out and enjoy all the little moments that make up our days. Life is good and we are so blessed!

36 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 36 weeks
Size of Baby: Weighs 6 lb and already 18-20 inches long
Medical Stuff: We had the first of our weekly appointments yesterday and everything is looking great. My blood pressure, weight, swelling, etc all look normal and the appointment lasted all of about 5 minutes. I can't thank God enough for such a relaxed stress-free end of my pregnancy. It's crazy to think that if Gracyn stays put until her c-section date (which is in only 19 DAYS!) then I only have 2 more weekly appointments!
Gender: a GIRL!!!!! Gracyn Paige Winston
Movement: Constantly. She is stuck in a certain position so I get all the same kicks and jabs in all the same spot and I swear her foot seems like its going to come right out of my side sometimes. Maybe we have the next soccer star in here!
Symptoms: If I had to complain about something it would be the trouble sleeping. Between the insomnia, constant need to go to the bathroom, braxton hicks, and just plain inability to get comfy it seems impossible to get a good night's sleep. I know its preparing me for the baby's arrival but I know I would be feeling like a million bucks if I could just get 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Otherwise everything is going great and I still don't have that "I wish she would come out already" feeling. I am just enjoying my time and the end of my pregnancy and honestly I just can't even imagine life with two kids so I am just enjoying my current reality before it all gets changed!
Best Moment of the Week: Yesterday when we were driving to the doctor (sidenote- Avery has gone to ALL my doctor's appointments and sonograms with me and she has been a little super star!) and I said "OK we are going to Mommy's doctor again so we can check and make sure Gracyn is growing big and strong." Avery was really quiet for a moment and then she said "Mommy, when she gets big and comes out I think I am going to kiss her and then change her diaper." HA! She is going to be such an amazing big sister and I can not thank God enough for allowing my daughter to have a sister because, although I know I am biased, there is nothing like the relationship between sisters and I am so grateful they will get to have that.
What I am Looking Forward To: enjoying our last 19 days!!!!!

2 and a Half Years

So we had Averys 2 1/2 year MD appointment and everything looked great! We met our new pediatrician and Avery loved her (and so do I!) so thats reassuring since we will be seeing her a lot once Gracyn gets here.
Here are the stats:
Weight: 29 lb (75%)
Height: 37.5 inches (>90%)

We are so blesssed to have such easy non-eventful doctor's appointments and luckily Avery even likes going to the doctor. At 2 1/2 Avery is LOVING all the fun social things we have been going to. She likes to sing all the songs at the library story time and mommy-and-me class. She pays super close attention to the teacher and follows their instructions really well. She is beyond ready for school but since we missed the enrollment for Fall we are going to try to fit her in somewhere starting in January and I know she is going to love it.
She is such a sweet, loving girl and is always hugging and kissing us saying "I just love you so much." Soooooo cute! Also she is so easy-going and has been pretty easy on her mommy with very few tantrums- i think she has only been in time-out 5 times or so- thats pretty good!
We are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy, smart, joyful girl and could not be more proud of our BIG 2 1/2 year old girl!

Just Chillin'

I know it's technically Fall but you sure can't tell here in South Florida! Its still in the 90's every day with humidity in at least the 80's-yuk! I guess the upside is that we are still enjoying the beach!

The mermaid sand castle that someone had made at the beach. Avery called it the "Little Mermaid with bio-lin"

Posing with the lion sandcastle

Sidenote- We had another sonogram yesterday to re-check amniotic fluid levels and everything seems to be looking good. Our ultrasound tech wasn't too talkative and really wasn't into showing us all the good stuff, but she did tell me that the baby was already 4 lb 8 oz and she did let me catch a quick glimpse of Gracyn's precious face (but she didn't print the picture for us to take.) Overall it was a quick appointment and everything looked good. Next week I start my weekly appointments!

Gracyn's Room

Gracyn's room is coming along little by little. I still need to buy another drape for the other window and get a few things here and there but otherwise I think we are nearly done. I have a few ideas of what I want to do after we get newborn pictures taken but obviously those won't be done for a while so for now this is as good as its going to get.
Her room didn't turn out exactly how I imagined but I actually really like it. I have tried really hard to be creative (aka cheap!) about decorating but I think for the most part it has turned out really cute and I can't wait to bring our baby girl home to her new room in less than a month!

Sisterly Love

34 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 34 weeks
Size of Baby: Weighs 5 lb and already 18 inches long
Medical Stuff: Everything is going great! We had an appointment this past week and everything seems to be progressing normally. We have our last sonogram on Monday to double-check the amniotic fluid levels and then we start our weekly appointments- time is flying by!
Gender: a GIRL!!!!! Gracyn Paige Winston
Movement: Lots! She is positioned head down with her feet over towards my right side so I am constantly getting kicked way over on the right side.
Symptoms: Still feeling good. Sleep is getting harder to come by with the getting up to pee, inability to get comfy, braxton hicks, insomia, and restless legs. I get a really good night's sleep every 3-4 days, but I think thats pretty normal at this stage.
I was telling Matt that I am actually really enjoying the end of this pregnancy. I remember when I was at this stage with Avery I was just SO ready for her to get here so I could see her, kiss her and see what it was really like to actually have a child, and as anxious as I am to meet Gracyn I am really enjoying the end of this pregnancy for now. I am enjoying the big belly, spending lots of quality time with Avery and just basking in the glow of what is to come. I am so thankful to still be feeling so good.
Best Moment of the Week: Hearing the doctor say "Well I don't want to jinx it but I think you may be having a perfect pregnancy." Yay! Who could ask for more???
What I am Looking Forward To: Just enjoying this last month (she will be here in exactly one month and one day!).
